pet snake
hellobob94 asked:

I have had many pets before. 5 rabbits, ranaway one died, bunches of fish, pihranna ate 2, a lovebird and 2 bearded dragon lizards. the lizards were my brothers but i helped take care of them cause i like them alot. they died in the end. my dad gave the bird and fish away when we moved, so now the onyl pet we have had in over a year is this small turtle that my brother and I are taking care of for my friends until they get back from visiting family, but they might stay there so i think we’ll have to keep the turtle.

I really want a pet snake and my uncle used to have one so he would really help out, and my mom was used to having pets in her youth cause of her brother. my mom just doesn’t think my brother and i deaseve to have pets. How can we convince her that we will take care of this pet although we’ve made mistakes before?

research on snakes and interview your uncle. when you are done put a little presentation on. If you copy down how you can prevent it from escaping or dieing, your parents will give in. i had to fight to get my dog, levi!

Ok, i used to have this same problem and what i found helpful is this. Do lots of research and show your parents all of it ( for good research try ) after that go to the breeder or pet store and ask to handle the snake. Take your parents with you and let them try to handle it, well from my exp. that works best and for a first time starter i would suggest a corn snake if you like quick and colorful, a ball python if you like power, or a king if you like a little bit of both. Well good luck!!

Do a little research on the specific type of snake you are interested in purchasing. Snakes aren’t that much to take care of, as long as you have the correct tank size, lighting/heating, etc., but in preparing for a snake, it could be costly. A great starter snake for first time snake owners would be a ball python because they are usually very placid and reluctant to bite. However, most snakes require at least a 20 gallon long tank, appropriate lighting/heating, and appropriate tanks accessories (such as a water bowl big enough that the snake can soak in, two hide boxes, branches for climbing, and rocks (NOT heated) for basking on or helping with shedding), also, I would highly recommend Astro-turf for the substrate, not just because it is easy to clean, but because it helps with the shedding process. Here is a website on ball pythons:

tell them that according to your records half of your pets die…so it might only be for a month or so….IF YOU CAN TAKE CARE OF YOUR ANIMAL DONT BUY ANY MORE
