The pet store guy told me to lift her by her neck, but I did my own research and sources say this is not good because a snake’s neck is delicate…? So what’s the best way to pick her up?

Make sure the snake knows its you and its time to be picked up, then scoop it from the middle of its body and use two hands to hold it, and dont be scared because once you have it up their mostly very friendly snakes.
scoop underneath the heaviest part of the body
IT DOESENT MATTER AS LONG AS U JUST DONT HOLD IT BY ITS HEAD BECAUSE IT COULD BITE YOU!
The best way is to scoop it up about mid way. And to hold it just let it slither around in your hands, let it go between your fingers, and when it gets bigger you could drape it around your neck.
Wow, that pet guy was wrong. First show the Snake your hand so you don’t startled her, then the middle of her body just scoop her up.
I would scoop it up about midway. Do not get near the head or eyes as it could feel threatened.
good thing your researching and asking around. its common sense not to pick an animal up by its neck. that pet store guy is an idiot. sorry, but he is. pick up the snake in the middle part/ heaviest part of his body and just scope her up.gently so that you dont scare her.
Um first make the snake aware of your presence by showing your snake your hand because if you pick it up without it noticing you, it will become startled and strike. Then with the other hand gently scoop the snake in the middle of the body(heaviest part). Never just pick it up or squeeze the snake because this simulates a hunter pickin it up.
