I’m no cat lover but that is cruel and if you ever want to have a girlfriend i would recommend you not feed the kittens to your snake.

Yes it is illegal. It’s considered animal abuse. You can be fined for this. You have to report them to animal control or take them to a shelter. If you watch animal rescue shows you will see many cases like this where the people are prosecuted in court for such things. Sorry
Not only is that classed as animal cruelty but it’s very dangerous for your snake. There is reason reptile Specialists sell prepacked frozen snake food in varying sizes. Think of your pet, not your pocket. Also feeding snakes live food can make them more aggressive, which in turn could make trouble for you later down the line when the snake grows in size. Take the kittens to the pound, don’t be unnecessarily cruel.
I’m not familiar with snakes, but what if the kittens are sick, wouldn’t that make your snake sick? Or what if they claw his eyes out while he’s trying to eat them? Or what if he gets sick because he isn’t used to eating kittens?
I just don’t recommend feeding your snake the kittens, for his sake. Also, it doesn’t really matter if it is illegal. Because you can do it and not tell anyone.

Dude, you can’t be asking questions about feeding kittens to a snake without taking a lot of flack. You’ll have every animal lover on Yahoo and PETA member out for your head.
There’s no law about this per se, but if you’re going to publicize it, someone could report you for animal abuse. Penalties for animal abuse are getting much worse so if you’re going to do this, don’t broadcast it to the world.
To answer your second question, the difference is nobody cares about feeding rats to snakes but everybody loves kittens.

I completely agree although I wouldn’t feed a wild animal to a pet snake. They can have diseases and parasites that may transfer. I also realize that feral cats are a destructive and invasive species. Its not animal cruelty to kill Burmese pythons, zebra muscles, or the emerald ash borer so why would it be animal cruelty to remove a feral cat?
EDIT: The law is the law and killing a cat is illegal. But technically you are not killing the cat, the snake is. To me this seems like the circle of life, not cruelty. So to answer the main question, no it is not illegal to feed a pet snake a kitten.
And in response to previous answers. It wouldn’t be smart to broadcast that you or anyone killed an animal illegally. However you never said you did anything but were "thinking". It isn’t against any laws to think about something. And if you believe the laws are bad you have every right to disagree. It is ENCOURAGED that you openly express your dissent as long as you have reasoning and evidence to back it and are willing to accept defeat if you turn out to be wrong.
