I have had a cornsnake, ball python in the past. I currently have a king snake, but now Im looking for a snake thats just a little bigger. I know I have an option of a burmese python and a red-tail boa but are there and other good pet snakes in the pet trade for an experienced snake owner like myself? thanks

Black Momba’s are always cool. 100% FDA approved.
How about a retic? they are the longest snake in the world i feed the one down at a pet shop near my house rabbits. maby a green tree python. also you may not be ready for a hot snake * hot = venomous* and if you do decide to get a hot snake you really half to check with your local fish and wild life place i did most of them are illegal to own here unless you have a licence to own deadly animals.
This may seem a little bit funny to you but try a garter snake. They are wild, long, not as tame as corn snakes, and eat slugs and fish. Therefore they make rather challenging pets! It’s not very exotic but hey, if you’re after a challenge, these are the snakes for you.
Good luck!
Ps: thankyou ever so much for owning a corn snake. They are fantastic animals that not many people care for.
What did you think of yours?
I love my 30cm long baby!
What are you looking for in a snake? Size, appearance, want to breed them? Something unusual?
I like Dumeril’s, and white lipped python’s. I also think hognoses snakes are fun, they look and act venomous without the hassel.
The snakes that get really huge, like retics and burms…I don’t see the point (unless you are going to breed them or use them to make money) they need lots of space, lots of heat, are a pain to keep and pretty much just sit around all the time. And there is always the chance they’ll put the squeeze on you.
I like something I can mess with.
gaday if u want a nice looking snake go4 a black headed python they are great and grow to about 14 feet so not to big i own 28 of em and thew are great snakes a little nippy when babys but great snakes
Going from a Ball Python to a Burmese is a really big step; I’d recommend getting an in between species like a Coastal Carpet Python or the other snake you said you have the option of, a Red-tail boa, both of which species get between 7-10 feet long, with the random 12 footers thrown in there for good measure. I’ve owned both species, and they really are amazing snakes to keep.
Good luck!
how about a carpet python or a dumerils boa? maybe you even want to get a arboreal snake like a green tree python.
i would say bald phython there not very big.not very active… and are easy to care
I wouldn’t suggest a Burmese Python to anyone they get huge and unhandleable. If you are looking for snakes to hold and handle red tail boas are great. If you are looking for a exotic like a green tree python I think you will like it they are a bit more expensive and much more aggressive but look great and don’t get too big. look them up I’m sure you will like them but make sure the one you get is captive bred. when they are wild caught they come in with parasites and don’t eat in captivity.
